Open Access Webinar with arXiv
On Tuesday, October 24th, 2023 at 10 am PT arXiv will be hosting a virtual panel to talk about arXiv’s role in the open access community after 30 years of pioneering in the space. Our discussion will cover open access (of course), the importance of community over commercialization, as well as what is new at arXiv – this will touch on everything from our work in accessibility in research (HTML Papers Project), our goals for extended interoperability (arXivLABs), our technology migration, and more.
Center for Open Science: Academic Research Institution Project Use-Cases on the OSF

Open Science Symposium 2023
The online conference at Carnegie Mellon University (November 3, 2023) will explore how open science is transforming the ways in which we do research and share it in a variety of science and non-science disciplines. Topics will include tenure and promotion policies, rethinking peer review, lessons from industry, automated science, and more!

2023: Year of Open Science

The White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) launched the Year of Open Science in January 2023, and many federal agencies have launched initiatives related to Open Science. In particular, there have been updates to federal agencies' Public Access Plans, in response to OSTP’s public access memorandum, Ensuring Free, Immediate, and Equitable Access to Federally Funded Research, which requires federally funded research to be made publicly available.
