Many schools and organizations with artists' book collections have curated online collections with digital reproductions of work and information on pieces and artists. Book dealers also often publish extensive information on works in their inventory. This can be helpful for finding comparative work, reviews, and information on artists.
If you are looking for information or examples of materials or styles, these four sites can be helpful resources. Particularly the ARLIS Thesaurus, created by Art Librarians, can help you make sure you are using the correct term, or help you find a term or concept.
There are a few academic journals that publish articles on book artists. If you are looking for more scholarly reviews or retrospectives on artists, these journals may help.
The Whitman College and Northwest Archives has a great collection of artists' books, ranging from small press pieces printed at Whitman College by visiting artists, to works from renowned book artists. The collection provides an excellent entry point to the form and you will find examples of many concepts and styles.
