The eighth edition of the MLA Handbook has made some changes in how citations are formatted. It uses the idea of "containers" to help writers indicate more clearly where they found resources that could be used in print or in various places online. The template is meant to help you organize relevant information. The eighth edition recommends that you use a URL or DOI for articles accessed online.
